DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ October 7, 2025, regular meeting started at 1:30 p.m. with Commissioners Aultman, Flatter, and Combs present. The Commissioners then approved the minutes from Oct 2nd. The examination and allowance of bills for October 2nd and 9th were $56,019.04 for the General fund, $105,516.38 for outside funds, and a total of $164,535.42 and was approved.
Various Departments had Appropriation Transfers. The Auditor had two contracts, one for new financial reports and SEFA for 2025-2027 for $21,700.00, and another to cover equipment costs for Goodwill for $20,000.00. The Animal Shelter then transferred $15,000.00 for new truck radios. Next, the Engineer transferred $75,000.00 to cover vehicle maintenance and repair, and the Prosecutor’s office transferred $1,500.00 to cover office supplies.
The annual renewal of the Darke County JFS Child Support Enforcement Agency was approved. The total cost of the contract was $44,823.93.
Attorney Tom Guillozet for the Village of Versailles presented an expedited petition of annexation for the Village to annex 6.782 acres from Wayne Township and some landowners. The annexation was approved.
Darke County Grants had a fund advance to cover Geiger Brothers invoice for Fair Housing Handouts in the amount of $974.43.
Darke County Ditch maintenance transferred $102,806.99 to cover 3rd quarter expenses.
The Commissioners approved the monthly obligation to JFS for $61,199.84.
A letter of support for collecting Domestic Violence fees for 2026 was requested by Annie Sonner and approved.
A memorandum of understanding between the Sheriff and Tri-County Board of Mental Health Services was approved. The total amount for the year was $149,940.
Darke County Grants requested authorization to accept and execute a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) for the FAA. It was approved.
Finally, an expense request for the Darke County Veterans was presented, allowing Jennifer Anthony, Gaylen Blosser, Scott Riffel, Philip Rehmert, and Wesley Cothran to attend the OSAVSC Fall Conference. The total approved for all 5 was $3,200.00
