DARKE COUNTY – The meeting on July 24, 2025, Darke County Commissioners’ regular meeting started at 1:30 p.m. with Commissioners Aultman and Combs present, Commissioner Flatter was out. The Commissioner’s first order of business was the reading of session minutes from Tuesday, the 22nd. They were approved. The session proceeded with the examination and allowance of bills for July 24th. Vouchers amounting to $50,301.88 out of the General Fund, and outside funds of $466,159.95 for a total of $516,461.83, all were approved for payment.
A Transfer of Appropriations for the Darke County EMA to purchase sandbags was approved for $600.00
Next up was a Revenue and Appropriation increase for the Darke County Board of Elections. The 2025 Election Security Grant was received for $10,000.00.
A notice of award was given to Rumpke for the 2025 Tire Recycling Day for Darke County Solid Waste on September 17, 2025. Preregistration will begin August 27th. Passenger tires will be $2.00, Semi Tires will be $8.00, and Tractor Tires will be $20.00.
Approving the 2023 Lead Safe Ohio Grant funds was next. Unexpected work at 117 South Main in Ansonia was deemed eligible for repair and was determined to be ready for this program. A change order in the amount of $5,310.00 was awarded to Codiak LLC of Newark, with the project not to exceed $90,410.00.
Two Fund Advances for the Darke County Grants office were approved. The 2024 Lead Safe Ohio Grant for the MRTC project for $2,500.00, and the 2024 Building Demo Revitalization Grant for asbestos removal of nine properties for $73,715.00.
The Prosecuting Attorney offered an expense request for the 2025 OPAA (Ohio Prosecuting Attorney’s Assoc.) in Cleveland on Sept. 18-19, 2025. The $715.96 amount was approved.
The Darke County Board of Developmental Disabilities had a Fund Transfer from the General Fund to the Capital Fund for $50,000.00 approved by the Commissioners.
Charity Hutt, Sewer District Administrator and former Assistant. Clerk/ Secretary was designated as an “Alternate Designee” for the Board of Commissioners, and the Administrative Clerk/Secretary and Assistant Clerk/Secretary for the Board of Commissioners.
