GREENVILLE – The Darke County Board of Commissioners met Thursday afternoon. Commissioners Matt Aultman, Marshall Combs, and Larry Holmes were all present.

The Commissioners approved two Transfers of Appropriations under Resolution (R-155-2024) for Airport Permanent Improvement and Solid Waste. They also needed to pay for Airport Utilities and cover three vehicles for the Darke County Sheriff’s Department. Funds were also needed for the Trash Bash that took place earlier in the year.

The agreement for Transportation Services between the Darke County Board of Commissioners and the City of Greenville was approved.

“At the end of March we did the allocation for the Healthy Agent Grant,” said Holmes. “This ties into that.”

The target population of these services will be provided to any Darke County resident 60 years old and older. Hours of service will include Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.

“We had a significant weather event earlier this week on Tuesday evening,” said Holmes. There’s a lot of cleanup that has to be done, but I want to thank the first responders. We have a lot of utility companies out there and electrical and line workers who are getting things back together.”

“We have a very hardworking community, and that made a big job a little bit lighter,” added Combs.

Construction or trash debris from the storm can be dropped off at Rumpke or Best Way Disposal. Wood of any kind, including branches, limbs, etc., can be dropped off at Shawnee Prairie Preserve on SR 502. Appliances, electronics, or metal can be dropped off at 1 Shot Recycling on Hahn Road in Bradford.
