GREENVILLE – The Darke County Board of Commissioners met Thursday afternoon.
Commissioners Marshall Combs and Larry Holmes were both present. Commissioner Matt Aultman was absent.
Under Resolution (R-392-2024), Examination and Allowance of Bills dated October 31st, 2024, were read and approved. The amount of the General Fund was $108,861.70; Outside General Funds were $61,936.22; with a Grand Total of $170,797.92.
Commissioners approved a quote for the Darke County Animal Shelter for a Hallmark Portable Building. The building will be used as a supply shed and will cost $3,078.00.
There were two bids accepted for Darke County Solid Waste – Collection of Recycling Items. Rumpke proposed a quote of five years total in the amount of $321,529.20. Best Way Disposal presented a quote in the amount of $305,419.30 also for a five-year contract. Commissioners awarded Best Way Disposal due to the lower cost.
Commissioner Holmes noted his appreciation to Rumpke throughout the years in the county.
Commissioners also accepted a resignation on behalf of Caleb Custer – Emergency Management Specialist effective October 30, 2024.
