Commissioners approve a change order with FinFrock Construction

The Darke County Board of Commissioners met on Thursday afternoon to discuss transfers of appropriations, a change order, the 2023 Tuberculosis Grant, and more. 

Commissioners Matt Aultman, Marshall Combs, and Larry Holmes were present.

The board approved Resolution (R-400-2023). This is a series transfer of Appropriations. The first are two $500 transfers for the Darke County Airport for various bills. The next is $420 for the Darke County Municipal Court to cover the expenses for the winter conference. Another is $300 for the Darke County Prosecuting Attorney to cover 2023 internet services. The last is $6,000 for the Darke County Engineer to replenish the vehicle maintenance line. 

The board then approved a change order between the Darke County Commissioner for the Village of New Madison and Contractor FinFrock Construction.

“This is a reduction in the contract of $23,514.40 as they wrapped up Washington Street in New Madison,” Commissioner Matt Aultman said. “As they wrap that up, they’re just trying to finalize some of the documents.” 

The board also approved Resolution (R-401-2023). This is revenue and appropriation increases for the new 2023 Tuberculosis Grant. This increases revenue by $9,874.14 for the Federal reimbursement of the Grant and increases appropriations by $9,874.14 for the distribution of the Grant. 

The board then approved Resolution (R-402-2023). This is a fund advance back from the Darke County Recorder Supplement. This transfers $20,763 back into the General Fund. 

The commissioners then spoke at the end of the meeting. 

Commissioner Larry Holmes discussed the upcoming land use meeting. 

“The Ohio State University team will be here Tuesday, December 5th at 6 pm to present the results of the land use survey,” Commissioner Larry Holmes said. “We look forward to that. It’s scheduled for 6 pm – 7 pm.”

Commissioner Marshall Combs discussed shopping locally this upcoming holiday season. 

“I just wanted to remind everyone to shop local during December,” Commissioner Marshall Combs said. “It means a lot to the small business owners around the county.”

Commissioner Matt Aultman gave a reminder of a meeting cancelation for next week. 

“There will not be a session next Thursday due to state board meetings and the CCO annual meeting conference and stuff like that,” Commissioner Matt Aultman said.
