DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ November 25, 2025, regular meeting started at 1:30 p.m. with Commissioners Aultman, Combs, and Flatter present. The Commissioners then approved the minutes from Nov. 20th. Then, the examination and allowance of bills for Nov. 20th and the 25th were presented. The totals were $51,211.97 for the General fund, $150,008.13 for outside funds, and a total of $201,220.10.
Transfers of Appropriations were next. The Board of Elections transferred $2000.00 for staff training, and the Commissioners transferred $100.00 to pay for vehicle repairs.
A new member of the Darke County Solid Waste Policy Committee was appointed. Casey Weiss of JAFE Decorating was appointed.
A MOU (memorandum of understanding) between D.C. Solid Waste and D.C. Soil and Water for the purpose of collaborating on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics STEM activities in Darke County Schools. The memorandum is effective from November 1st, 2025, to December 31st, 2030.
Darke County Grants had a fund advance for the 2024 Airport Terminal Fuel Tank Demo Grant. The advance of $60,761.00 was for Collins Equipment for fuel, water, and tank removal. The money will be advanced back once the grant gives back the revenue.
Neil Kemper was appointed as a full-time maintenance worker effective Dec. 1st, 2025.
A letter of support from the Commissioners to the National Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association (NOWRA), asking for funding for technical assistance and training focused on decentralized Wastewater treatment for our small villages and unincorporated areas.
A Change Order for First Choice Excavating for the 2024 Demo and Site Revitalization Program was granted. This was for a 31-day time extension from Nov. 30th to December 1st due to unforeseen issues.
