The Darke County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday afternoon to discuss the Darke County Airport funds, the loss of the RSAT Grant, a notice to bidders for the Village of Versailles, and an application to employ legal counsel. Commissioners Matt Aultman, Marshall Combs, and Larry Holmes were present.

The board approved two resolutions regarding the 2022 FAA Terminal Construction Grant.

The first was Resolution (R-232-2023), a fund advance back of $2,000 into the General Fund. The original fund advance was R-138 and approved on 5/16/23.

The second was Resolution (R-233-2023), a fund advance of $5,823.20 from the General Fund to cover CMT Professional Services from 5/27/23 – 6/30/23. This will be advanced back once revenue is received.

The board then approved Resolution (R-234-2023) regarding the 2023 Airport Runway Rehab Grant. This is an advance of $14,415.27 from the General Fund to cover the CMT professional services bill.

The board next approved Resolution (R-235-2023). This is a decrease of $340,971.58 in revenue from the Federal Grant and County Share and appropriations from Contract services. This is because the 2022 Residential Substance Abuse Treatment (RSAT) Grant was not renewed.

The board then approved a Notice to Bidders. This is for Sealed Bids for “Village of Versailles” to construct Reed Rd. Well Field Transmission Line-Phase II. Bids are due by 1 pm Tuesday, August 29, and will be opened and read at 1:30 pm.

The board also approved an application for legal counsel to assist the Darke County Prosecuting Attorney.

The application states, “Comes now the Board of County Commissioners of Darke County, Ohio, and R. Kelly Ormsby, III, Darke County Prosecuting Attorney, who hereby apply to this Court, pursuant to R.C. Sections 2941.63 and 305.14(A) and the inherent power of this Court to authorize the Board to employ Anthony E Kendell, Miami County Prosecuting Attorney (or any of his assistant prosecuting attorneys that he may designate), as legal counsel to assist the Darke County Prosecuting Attorney in the possible prosecution of an action; to wit: the evaluation and potential prosecution of Christian Idle, currently employed as an officer by the Ansonia Police Department.”
