DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ December 16, 2025, regular meeting started at 1:30 p.m. with Commissioners Aultman, Combs, and Flatter present. The Commissioners then approved the minutes from Dec. 11, 2025. Then, the examination and allowance of bills for December 3, 11th, and 16 were presented. The totals were $144,590.83 for the General fund, $2,822,054.13 for outside funds, and $2,966,644.96 in total.
Transfers of Appropriations were next. The Sheriff and equipment transferred $10,000.00 to cover Attorney General Training, Ditch Maintenance transferred $5.00 to cover December Life Insurance, and the Commissioners transferred $1,000.00 to pay a Silversky invoice.
Darke County JFS presented the 2025-2026 Common Pleas IV D contract for Magistrate services. Funds for the contract totaling $167,134.37 come from the Child Support Enforcement Funding. The contract is in effect from 10/01/2025 through 9/30/2026.
Darke County Grants had four fund advances. The first was for First Choice Excavation final payments for five properties totaling $84,750.00. Second was for the 2024 Bldg./Demo Revitalization Grant for $63,750 for First Choice for 5 more properties. The 2024 Airport/Terminal fuel tank Demo grant was next for $7,066.81 to cover D.C. Grant salaries, and $312.16 for Aim media to cover advertising.
Darke County Grants then had Revenue and Appropriation increases, and a fund advance back for the Gordon/Ithaca sewer. The revenue and appropriation increase was $21,000.00, and the advance back was $21,000.00.
Next, the Commissioners abolished the position of Ditch maintenance secretary, as it was no longer considered necessary due to the reorganization of duties in the department as of January 1, 2026. The Secretary may appeal this decision.
Reda Sullenbarger resigned from her position as Ditch Maintenance Secretary effective December 15, 2025.
