LACROSSE, WI – At 41 years old, Coach Montaous Walton has been involved in the game for a long time and is still widely regarded as a young, energetic, and aggressive recruiter in college baseball.
He had past success and stops at Cincinnati Christian University, Central Christian College of Kansas, Wright State Lake Campus, Rust College in Mississippi, as well as Division I Mississippi Valley State University, and most recently, he spent a stint at Hamline University in St paul, Minnesota.
Walton will continue his coaching career at Western Tech College, a competitive program and playoff contender in Lacrosse, Wisconsin, which is Walton’s Home state. The school is located near Minneapolis, Minnesota, under the direction of Head Baseball Coach Joshua Knoll. The Western Tech Cavaliers had a successful season, finishing in the top 3 of the Minnesota Athletic Collegiate Conference and making history by advancing to the playoffs and quarterfinals, which was the farthest in school history. Adding Walton with his strong ability to recruit talent as well as his winning pedigree can be a huge deal and a Big Addition for Coach Knoll.
“I just want to win and come over and do my part on the coaching staff to help the program win a championship,” said Coach Walton. “Western Tech is on the rise. I’m also excited to be back in my home state of Wisconsin. I love coach Knolls style of play and his approach to the game and helping him and his staff turn the program into a contender similar to how I did in the past at Cincinnati Christian University when we went from bottom of the conference into a perennial Contender making deep a run in the conference tournament back then. I hope to make a difference on staff at Western Tech College as well.”
Walton knows what it takes to win. He’s been to the college World Series twice in the last 4 seasons and has a proven track record of signing talent to win.
