The opportunity to promote the upcoming levy renewal of the Darke County Parks in a big way became a reality for the Citizens for Darke County Parks group. The use of the billboards was offered through  Huntington Signs.

The levy renewal, Issue #9, will be on the November 7 ballot. The renewal, no new taxes, will allow the Darke County Park District to continue all the great opportunities provided to Darke Countians, including grants to the many local area parks. The renewal will cost the owner of a $100,000 home $18 for the year.

Darryl Mehaffie, Park District Commissioner, approached Justin Powell, owner of Huntington Signs. Huntington designed, printed, produced, and installed the nine billboards at no cost to the Citizen’s Group, which is working to let people know about the renewal.
