Charles Ronald Wolters passed peacefully in his sleep on March 14, 2024, at Village Green Assisted Living in Greenville, Ohio.
Ron was born March 4, 1933, near Woodington, OH. He was the son of William and Merle Wolter.
Ron attended Avery School, which was a one-room country school, from the 1st to the 8th grade. He graduated from Greenville High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955.
Ron’s Navy service was in Naval Air Sea Rescue and took him to Air Stations in Norfolk, VA; Memphis, TN; Lake Hurst, NJ; Jacksonville, FL and four Naval carriers. It was in Memphis, TN that Ron met his forever sweetheart, Jean Delashmitt. They married on Oct.16, 1952, and were together for 71 years.
Ron’s Naval experience led him to quite a career as an Electro-Mechanical Field Supervisor Engineer in Aviation. His work included Aero-Products in Vandalia, OH; Allison in Indianapolis, IN; Westinghouse in Sunnyvale, CA and Lycoming Division Auto in Stratford, CT. Ron, Jean, and their two young children returned to his hometown of Greenville, OH, where he worked as a Prudential Insurance Agent. After that, he became a licensed real estate agent. Then, he started a construction company where he built houses and installed solar water heating.
His most recent business was Bail Bonding and Bounty Hunting, which he did for 29 years.He retired at the age of 79.Ron attended St.Paul United Church of Christ in Greenville. He was a lifetime member of the Greenville Chapter of VFW and the Greenville Moose Lodge Chapter 329.Ron enjoyed extensive traveling, his many friends, and spending time with family.He was adored by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, William and Merle Wolter, and his brother, Tyrone Wolter.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Wolters, son Dr. Bill (Debbie) Wolters of Germantown, TN, and daughter Pam (Tom) Dickerson of Centerville, OH, Grandchildren Dr. William (Jennifer) Wolters, Amy (Forrest) Edwards, Dr. Winston (Madeline) Wolters, Curtis Dickerson, Alex (Audrey) Dickerson, Daniel (Chelsea) Dickerson, Samuel Dickerson, Chloe Dickerson, and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends may call on the family from 12:00 PM-1:00 PM on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Funeral Service to follow at 1 PM with Pastor Doug Klinsing presiding. Burial at Greenville Cemetery.
