DARKE COUNTY – On Tuesday at approximately 4:49 PM Darke County Deputies along with Greenville Township Rescue, Greenville Township Fire, Greenville Fire Department and CareFlight responded to the intersection of US 127 and Hunter Road in reference to a head-on injury accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed a white 2023 Kenworth dump truck driven by, Layne Washington (26) of Greenville was northbound on US 127 when he failed to yield while making a left turn onto Hunter Road. Washington struck a southbound black Ford Focus driven by, Monaka Ridgway (39) of Greenville. After the head-on impact, both vehicles came to rest in the ditch.
Ridgway and Washington were both treated and released from the scene. Ridgway’s front seat passenger, Arreis Sprowl (19) of Greenville was extricated by mechanical means and transported to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight where she is listed in good condition.
