ANSONIA – The visiting Bradford Railroaders defeated the Ansonia Tigers 5-1 in WOAC baseball action.

“Ansonia has some nice players,” said Bradford coach, Bill Sturwold. “They’re going to win some games. They’re in our sectional so they’ll be a contender for sure.”

Bradford scored single runs in the first, second, fourth, and fifth innings to lead 4-0 with Ansonia coming to the plate in the bottom of the inning to score its lone run of the game.

“We struck out too many times, we had our chances,” Coach Sturwold noted. “I would like for us to break a game open then I could get some subs in. Those kids that aren’t playing are still working hard. I really wish we could break a game open.”
