PIQUA – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Shelby & Darke County is proud to announce it has been awarded the Effective Nonprofit Board Award from the Edison State Community College Center for Leadership Development.
The award was presented during the Mosaic of Community Leadership Conference held in May at Edison State Community College.
This honor recognizes nonprofit boards across the region for excellence in governance, leadership, strategic planning, and community impact.

This award is a testament to the dedicated service and thoughtful leadership of the organization’s board, executive team, staff, and volunteers. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Shelby & Darke County achieved Gold Level status by meeting all 26 criteria outlined in the Nonprofit Board Checklist. These criteria assess key aspects of nonprofit management, including governance, financial stewardship, human resources, strategic planning, and community engagement.
