Aviators fly past Green Wave 61–35 in MVL action

VANDALIA – The Butler Aviators controlled the game from start to finish in a 61–35 victory over the Greenville Green Wave, handing Greenville a loss in its Miami Valley League opener of the new varsity boys basketball season.

Butler wasted little time asserting itself, racing out to a 17–8 first-quarter lead and never looking back. The Aviators tightened their grip in the second period, outscoring Greenville 17–6 to take a commanding 34–14 advantage into halftime.

Greenville found more rhythm offensively in the second half, reaching double figures in both quarters with 10 points in the third and 11 in the fourth. However, Butler continued its steady scoring pace, adding 14 in the third and 13 in the fourth to secure the 26-point win.

With the victory, Butler improves to 2–0 on the season, while Greenville falls to 0–2.

Mitch Craine led all scorers with a game-high 17 points for the Aviators. Michael McMahon paced Greenville with 10 points.
