DARKE COUNTY – This week’s local spotlight athletes are Tri-Village softball players Hailey Burk and Aereonna Baker.
Hailey and Aereonna played a big role in the Lady Patriots’ double-header wins over Greenville and Covington on Saturday.
Junior outfielder Aereonna Baker went 2-4 in the game against Greenville, belting a double and had two RBIs. She also had the game-winning catch to squelch a Lady Wave late rally. She was 3-for-6 at the plate with 3 RBI’s and a run scored in the two wins.
Junior catcher Hailey Burk had 3 RBIs in the game against Greenville and then belted a two-run homer in the victory over the Lady Buccs. She was a combined 3-for-6 at the plate with 5 RBIs and scored 3 times in both wins.
