“I’ve always wanted to play college softball,” Harleman stated. “I felt like this was the right place for me and the right position.”

“They are getting a kid with a great attitude and a pitcher that throws strikes, is very consistent, and doesn’t walk very many batters,” said Arcanum softball coach, Mike Morris. “She will fit in real well up there.”

Harleman, a multi-sport athlete looks to pitch for the Lady Student Princes and states, “play first base when needed and be an all-around player where they need me.”

“Belle is a great young lady and is a great representation of the Trojan way, how she carries herself,” said Arcanum High School Principal Ty Cates. “When you have an athlete go to the next level from a small school like ours, hopefully, she takes what she learned from Coach Morris and our softball program and takes it to the next level.”

“Belle is a member of the National Honor Society, a very smart girl, always smiling, and great personality, excited for her to get that opportunity to go play at the next level,” Cates added. “It’s great for our kids to see there are opportunities beyond small school Arcanum. You can go do that if you work hard. It’s a good example for Arcanum.”

Harleman took time to thank those who helped her reach her goal of playing softball at the college level.

“I want to thank my parents for everything they’ve done, the money, the time they’ve put into the sport and hopefully I can someday give it back to them,” she said.

“I have loved my time here at Arcanum,” said Harleman. “I truly love this small town and hopefully I come back after my four years. I can’t thank this town enough for what they have done and all the support they have given to me. I will always love this Arcanum community.”
