ARCANUM – The Arcanum Lady Trojans volleyball program under the direction of second year head coach, Jacie Holman welcomed 44 campers to the three day event.

The camp included two sessions each day with fifth and sixth graders making up the first session and seventh and eighth graders for the second session.

“This is our first year and I am super happy with our numbers,” said Coach Holman. “I feel like that is pretty high for our first year.”

The fifth and sixth grade girls camp focused on passing and serving and started the introduction of setting. The seventh and eighth grade portion of the camp reviewed on passing, serving, setting and “then we really dug into hitting as well,” noted Holman.

“We have been super lucky, not only have I had Kami (McEldowney) and Courtney (McEldowney Nelson), my JV coaches,” said Holman. “I have also been fortunate to have our junior high coaches here as well to help and have another set of eyes so a huge thank you goes out to Erica Byers, Terr Greve and Beth Beisner.”

“My high school girls have been wonderful,” she added. “My first goal was that they became role models for these girls and they fulfilled that for me.”

Coach Holman believes the future is bright for the Lady Wave Volleyball program moving forward.

“I keep telling my girls that I think this is a big year for us but it is just starting,” Coach Holman stated. “I think there is a lot of great things coming up from fifth grade on. There is probably even more talent in the elementary that I haven’t seen so I am excited for the future of Lady Trojans Volleyball.”
