ARCANUM — It finally felt like spring Monday evening as area teams gathered at Arcanum to
open the 2026 track and field season, and the host Trojans made the most of it.

With favorable weather and high energy across the board, Arcanum’s boys and girls teams each
turned in strong performances to claim first-place finishes in the season-opening meet.
Competition was steady throughout the night, with multiple teams showing early-season
promise, but Arcanum set the tone across events and consistently scored to separate from the
field.

Tri-Village finished as runner-up on both the boys’ and girls’ sides, followed by a competitive mix of Franklin Monroe, Newton, and Bethel.
On the girls’ side, Arcanum led the way, with Tri-Village placing second, Franklin Monroe third,
Newton fourth, and Bethel rounding out the field.

The boys’ competition saw a similar outcome, with Arcanum again taking first, followed by Tri-
Village in second. Bethel placed third, Newton fourth, and Franklin Monroe fifth.
While the meet marked the first official competition of the season, several strong early
performances highlighted the depth across area programs and set the stage for what could be a
competitive spring.
