DARKE COUNTY – Sunday morning at approximately 3:10 a.m. Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with Union City Police, Fire, and Rescue, responded to the 8300 Block of Hillgrove- Southern Road in reference to a single vehicle accident with injury.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a Gray 2002 Honda Shadow Motorcycle, driven by Joshua Baker (35), of Ansonia, was traveling South on Hillgrove-Southern Road. Baker advised that a deer ran in his pathway. Baker made an abrupt maneuver to avoid the deer and lost control of the motorcycle.
Baker was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
This accident remains under investigation.
