ANSONIA – Members of the Ansonia FFA had an outstanding experience at this year’s Ohio FFA State Convention, with several students earning recognition on the state stage for their achievements and accomplishments.
Sophia Aultman earned second place in the Diversified Horticulture Proficiency area and captured first place in Nursery Operations. She will represent Ohio at the national level this fall in both Nursery Operations and as Ohio’s Star American in Agribusiness.
Troy Stuck and Nick Barga were also recognized on stage for their first-place finish in the Agricultural Power and Diagnostics Career Development Event, where they received their state championship banner.
Several chapter officers were honored for earning Gold ratings on their officer books. Benjamin Barnt was recognized for the secretary’s book, Wyatt Homan for the treasurer’s book, and William Aultman for the reporter’s book. Each student received a Gold Officer Pin during the convention ceremonies.
The chapter also celebrated four members who earned their State FFA Degree, one of the organization’s highest honors at the state level. Those recognized included Kensey Homan, Austin Singer, Troy Stuck, and Kaeden Waymire.
In addition to the convention activities and recognition ceremonies, the chapter officer team toured the new Multispecies Animal Learner Center (MALC) at The Ohio State University and enjoyed a team-building visit to Topgolf Columbus.
