Annie Oakley Golf Tournament raises $20k

DARKE COUNTY – The Cancer Association of Darke County teamed with the Annie Oakley Golf Committee to hold the annual Annie Oakley Golf Tournament on July 22, 2024.

It was held at Turtle Creek with 88 golfers participating. A banquet (with delicious food) was held after the event for the golfers and guests with Catering by Michael (Mike James)
Tee Signs were purchased from businesses and individuals, Garden of Memories signs were purchased to honor loved ones who had passed and cash donations were also provided.

The event raised $20,000 and all proceeds were donated to the Cancer Association of Darke County. The monies will be used to assist Darke County cancer patients.

Yearly business supporters are: GNB Banking Centers, Park National Bank, Greenville Federal, Hittle Buick-GMC, Dave Knapp Ford, Troutwine Auto Sales.

Premier Health and American Legion Post 140 sponsored lunch and golf skill prizes donations were donated by Turtle Creek. Brethren Retirement Community (Shannie Denney) printed the programs.

Those serving on the Annie Oakley Golf Committee were: Scott and Lisa Frens, Tom and Melody Bernhard, Jack and Kay Sloat, Larry Ullery and Gloria Martin, Mike Woods and from the Cancer Association – Trudy Eastland and Christine Lynn.

Shannon Berry at Turtle Creek assisted with the results and acknowledgments.

The association would like to thank members of the committee, all golfers and many sponsors and helpers who helped to make the event possible.
