GREENVILLE — Veterans and their spouses are invited to enjoy a free lunch in honor of Memorial Day on Monday, May 25, thanks to a special event sponsored by Tribute Funeral Homes.
The complimentary meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Greenville American Legion Post 140. It will feature a Winner’s pork tenderloin lunch as a gesture of appreciation for the service and sacrifices made by America’s military veterans.
Organizers say the event is open to all veterans and their spouses and is intended to recognize those who have served the nation while providing an opportunity for fellowship before the community’s Memorial Day activities begin.
Following the luncheon, attendees are encouraged to head to downtown Greenville for the annual Memorial Day Parade, which is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on Broadway.
“Thank you, servicemen and women, everywhere, for your great sacrifice for our country,” Tribute Funeral Homes stated in announcing the event.
Memorial Day is a time for Americans to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in military service to the United States. The free luncheon offers local veterans and their families an opportunity to gather with fellow service members and community members as Greenville observes the holiday.
The luncheon will be held at Greenville American Legion Post 140 and is free of charge for all veterans and their spouses.
