DAYTON – They say you should never meet your heroes—but WHIO-TV meteorologists Britley Ritz, Ryan Marando, and K99.1FM’s Nancy Wilson proved just how wrong that old saying can be!
Mason Willetts, Samuel Ploch, Brett Brinley, David Condon, and David Olinger all share a deep passion for weather and are loyal viewers of News Center 7. At Darke DD, our mission is to support people in living their best lives—whatever that may look like for them.
When Brett shared with his SSA his longtime dream of touring a weather station (a passion he’s had since childhood, even doing morning weather reports), a referral was made to our Community Connections and Advocacy Coordinator, Sue Neiswander Huston. Sue, who always strives to connect people with shared interests, extended the opportunity to others she knew would also enjoy the experience.
The group loaded into a van for a memorable day that far exceeded expectations. A special thank you to Niki Mayakova for the outstanding tour, and to Britley and Ryan for giving our group a behind-the-scenes look at your work. You truly made our day, and we’re excited about the new friendships and connections that came from this incredible visit.
