GREENVILLE – EverHeart Hospice’s Senior Leadership Team, along with representatives from LeadingAge Ohio, met with State Representative Angie King to discuss House Bill 945 and its potential impact on hospice care across Ohio.
The discussion focused on how House Bill 945 can help establish important safeguards to ensure patients and families have access to clear, reliable information when identifying quality, mission-driven hospice providers. Participants also discussed the importance of regulatory requirements that hold hospice organizations accountable to high standards of care.
EverHeart Hospice and LeadingAge Ohio expressed their full support for additional regulatory requirements designed to combat fraud, waste, and abuse in the hospice field while protecting the integrity of providers committed to compassionate, patient-centered end-of-life care.
“As a mission-driven hospice provider, EverHeart Hospice is committed to ensuring that patients and families receive the information, transparency, and quality care they deserve,” said Kristi Strawser, CEO of EverHeart Hospice. “We appreciate Representative King’s willingness to engage in meaningful conversation about how House Bill 945 can strengthen hospice oversight and support providers who are dedicated to doing this work the right way.”
House Bill 945 aims to strengthen accountability within hospice care and help ensure that families can make informed decisions during one of life’s most important and vulnerable times. EverHeart Hospice remains committed to advocating for policies that support ethical hospice care, protect patients and families, and preserve the mission of hospice throughout the communities it serves.
