Greenville man crashes vehicle while under the influence

DARKE COUNTY – On October 26, at approximately 8:26pm. Tri-Village Rescue, New Madison Fire and Darke County Deputies responded to the area of US 127 and US 36 west in reference to a single-vehicle rollover.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2019 GMC van being driven by Ramon Caixba (39) of Greenville, Ohio was traveling southbound on US 127 when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway. Caixba attempted to correct the vehicle but overcorrected, which caused the vehicle to roll over onto its top and come to a rest in the roadway.

Caixba was treated at the scene for his injuries and was later transported to Wayne HealthCare where he was later discharged and arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence (OVI).

This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
