DARKE COUNTY – Have you seen this quilt on display? It made its rounds at the Gathering at the Garst, the Great Darke County Fair, Senior Day in the Park, and various Darke County Senior Citizen events.
The quilt was made and donated by Theresa Kress. The America 250 quilt is 72” x 72” and can be used as a queen-size topper or wall hanging. Tickets are $5 each and the drawing will be held on Wednesday, November 4th at the General Members Meeting/Veteran’s Potluck held at 3:00 pm. Contact a board member to purchase tickets and/or sign up to participate in the potluck honoring our veterans and families. All proceeds from the quilt raffle will fund future programs for our Darke County seniors.
Events are filling up with great regularity, and many classes reach capacity or develop waiting lists weeks before registration deadlines. To improve your chances of securing a spot, visit the Darke County Senior Center regularly and sign up early. Event details and sign-up sheets are often available at the center days before calendars and flyers are printed (not to mention distributed) and even earlier than announcements on Facebook or in the news media.
Two recently added events that have been well received and great fun is the Card Bingo, which will be held Tuesday, November 10th from 7:00 – 9:00 pm and the Friday Fun Night, which will be Friday, November 13th from 7:00 – 10:00 pm.
