Evelyn Jean (Allread) Grosch, age 90, of Arcanum, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at The Versailles Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Versailles, Ohio.
Evelyn was born on October 20, 1935, the daughter of the late Emil and Mary (Armacost) Allread. In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Grosch whom she married on December 20, 1952, and her brother, Roger Allread.
She is survived by her children, Darrell (Kim) Grosch, Gary (Jeannie) Grosch and Shelley (Scott) Miller; her grandchildren, Leah (Scott) Poling, Angie (Mark) Thomas, Amiee (Josh) Fletcher, Melissa (David) Hawes, Sara Grosch, Chad (Laci) Grosch, Andrew Miller, Pacy Miller, Evie Lynn Miller, Edward Dispennette and Nickolas Dispennette; her great grandchildren, Landon, Kyrsten, Allena, Isaiah, Easton, Skyler, Taylor, Ellie, Rylan, Adalee, Zachary, Elizabeth and Robert and her brother, Richard (Phyllis) Allread.
Evelyn was a 1953 graduate of Arcanum High School. She spent her life working as a homemaker. She loved to dance, she started dancing at The Barbara Rethlake Dance Studio. She participated in the Greenville Cloggers for 12 years. She and Norman were members of the Flying Farmers of America. Evelyn could be found daily at the Greenville YMCA. She was a huge Elvis Pressley fan and an avid reader, as you could often find her sitting outside reading.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made in Evelyn’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
