Sewer Project Bids and Delinquencies Lead Agenda

Darke County Commissioners

DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ September 10, 2026 regular meeting started at 1:30 p.m. with Commissioners Aultman, Combs, and Flatter present. The Commissioners then approved the minutes from September 8th.

The Commissioners introduced and approved the examination and allowance of bills for September 10th. The General Fund total was $23,323.62; the Outside funds were $222,344.12, totaling $245,667.74.

The Darke County Airport had two approved appropriation transfers. The first transfer was for $1,937.15 for vehicle maintenance, and the second was for $7,000.00 to cover the DBT Transportation contract.

Sealed bids for the Ft. Jefferson Sanitary Sewer project were opened. There were Five bidders. Those bids will be reviewed before the award.

The Second bid for the Cooper Farms Union City Mill demolition received six bids. They will also be reviewed.

The Ansonia Water Distribution System Study had a change order of $500.00 added for a water valve field location to study.

Applications for the Brownfield remediation program for the Hamilton property at 122 North Broadway and for the Castine property at 103 South Main Street. Both were approved.

A request was sent to enforce the Ohio State Building Codes within the County by October 1st 2026. It was approved.

A request to the Darke County Commissioners to the State Building Standards for enforcement of the Residential Code of Ohio to exercise enforcement authority, accept and approve plans and specifications, and conduct inspections was approved.

Delinquent accounts were sent to the Auditor for the New Weston- Burkettsville Subdistrict for placement on property taxes in Darke County. The amount totaled $8,801.12. Resolutions 312 through 319 were all certified to the Auditor for delinquent accounts for all sewer districts. They were: Village of Pitsburg- $51,240.00, North Star sewer district for $1,400.96, Osgood Sewer District for $2,909.90, Rossburg Sewer District for $8,776.42, Rolin Acres WWTP for $2,396.30, Stillwater Golf Estates WWTP for $765,77, Yorkshire Sewer District for $3,035.30, and the Wayne Lakes Sewer District for $31,193.97. All were approved.

Darke County Vehicle Maintenance declared the following equipment junk: They were a 1996 Chevrolet P30 van and a 2019 Ford Police utility unit. Both were approved.

The Auditor then declared a Sharp computer junk; it was also accepted.

An Agreement for Plans examination and Commercial Building official Consulting Services was approved with Bruns Consulting for the Darke County Building Department.

An Agreement for Back-up Plans examination Consulting Services was approved with McGovern Imagery, LTD.

The Commissioners approved an agreement for Software Services for the Building Dept. with iWorQ Systems.

Joseph Ditmer resigned as a Ditch Worker to start his own business effective Sept. 17th. The Commissioners accepted his resignation and wished him well.

A moment of silence was held for Steve Brumbaugh, the longtime Apiary Agent for the County, who recently passed.
