GREENVILLE – On August 22, the Darke County Jr. Fair Horse Department recognized outstanding youth from the department.
2026 Equine Queen – Chloe Hoying from Buckeye Buckaroos 4-H Club
2026 Equine Queen runner-up – Ava Gosnell from Buckeye Buckaroos 4-H Club
2026 Equine $500 Scholarship Winner – Micah Arbogast from Horse and Rider 4-H Club. Sponsored by The Darke County Horse Committee.
2026 Equine Skillathon Winners:
Junior Division
1st Place – Briley Miller from Buckeye Buckaroos 4-H Club. She received a custom chair and a prize of $50, sponsored by Miley Friesians.
2nd Place – Tie between Charlotte Rismiller from Buckeye Buckaroos 4-H Club and Bexley Depoy from Horse and Rider 4-H Club. Both received a prize of $25, sponsored by JCS Construction & Excavating in memory of Ed and Diane Huffman.
3rd Place – Gus Rammel from Buckeye Buckaroos 4-H Club. He received a prize of $15 sponsored by Friends of 4-H.
Intermediate Division
1st Place – Tie between Sarah Hartman and Kaylie Miller, both from Buckeye Buckaroos 4-H Club. They both received a custom chair and a prize of $50, sponsored by Hunt Horseshoeing, Kyle Hunt.
2nd Place – Kinley Post from Greenville Rangers 4-H Club. She received a prize of $25 sponsored by Ally Brinkmann Performance Horses.
3rd Place – Tie between Ruby Delk from Trails and Tails 4-H Club and Annabelle Billenstein from Buckeye Buckaroos 4-H Club. They both received a prize of $15 sponsored by Friends of 4-H.

Senior Division
1st Place – Colby Peters from Buckeye Buckaroos 4-H Club. He received a custom chair and a prize of $50, sponsored by Wintrow Signs.
2nd Place – Tie between Emylee Springer from Buckeye Buckaroos and Julia Arbogast from Horse & Rider 4-H Club. They both received a prize of $25, sponsored by Friends of 4-H.
3rd Place – Kiera Spencer from Rustic Roots 4-H Club. She received a prize of $15, sponsored by Friends for 4-H.
The department also recognized two of their senior members, Micah Arbogast and Ty Isreal. Micah is a 13-year 4-H member who has shown horses and dogs, and has taken several non-animal projects. He has served as President of his club, has served on the Jr. Fairboard, and was elected as 2nd runner-up in the Jr. Fair King competition. He graduates from Arcanum High School and is planning to attend Cedarville University for Electrical Engineering.
Ty is also a 13-year 4-H member. His project is his Quarter Horse, Shelly. He is a member of Greenville Rangers 4-H Club where he has served as President, Reporter, Historian, and Secretary. He was Grand Champion in Ranch Showmanship in 2022 and received an Achievement Award in 2019. Ty is graduating from Amazing Grace Virtual Academy and plans to attend Hobart Institute for welding.
