GREENVILLE – Historic South Broadway turned into an open-air gallery Friday evening as Main Street Greenville presented the 2026 Artisan Stroll, drawing a crowd downtown for handmade work, live music and food from 5 to 9 p.m.
More than 20 artisans and artists set up along the sidewalks and inside participating downtown shops, showing ceramics, fiber and textiles, printmaking, photography, painting, mixed media, candles and soap. Live music played on South Broadway, and three area arts
organizations — the Greenville Mural Committee, the Greenville Art Guild and the Darke County Center for the Arts — set up alongside the makers.
The evening carried the theme “Be Real, Be You.”
Thirteen pieces were entered in this year’s juried contest. Three awards were presented:
Best Overall — Stephanie Schieltz-Lowder, for her ceramic relief work. Prize donated by Topsy Turvy Toys.
Be Real, Be You — Pearl Smith, for her photograph “My Grandmother’s Blooms.” Prize donated by The Yarn Remedy.
People’s Choice — Hosanna McConachie, for “Talulah,” selected by public vote cast on the Experience Main Street app throughout the evening. Prize donated by Sewn Together Ohio.
Each winner also received an engraved crystal award, donated by Workshop & Web.
“What made this work was the willingness of our artisans to bring their work downtown and stand behind it,” said Lucas Jackson, chair of the 2026 Artisan Stroll. “Downtown was full, and people were talking to makers instead of walking past them. That was the whole
point.”
The Artisan Stroll took place alongside First Friday, with Final Bow hosting an open house and outdoor stage on East Third Street and Youth for Christ of the Miami Valley running its Summer Fest and Toss for Teens cornhole tournament behind the YFC Ministry Center.
