DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ July 30, 2026, regular meeting started at 1:32 p.m. with Commissioners Aultman, Combs, and Flatter present. The Commissioners then approved the minutes from July 28th.
The examination and allowance of bills were presented and approved. The vouchers for July 29th and 30th were: General fund $18,960.54; outside General funds $374,849.51; for a total of $393,810.05.
Three Departments had Transfers of Appropriations. The DC Coroner transferred $500.00 for vehicle brakes, JFS had insufficient Appropriations for furniture and transferred $8,500.00, and Juvenile/Probate transferred $1,000.00 for travel and lodging expenses.
Darke County Grants advanced $28.86 for the 2024 CDBG grant for postage.
Revenue and appropriation increases from the 2025 Brownfield grant were next. $840,000.00 for Cooper Farms, and the 2023 Lead Safe Ohio grant came in less than estimated and decreased by $7,840.00
The Darke County Sheriff had an expense request approved for Kelly Moody to attend the Chaplain and Deputies Seminar on October 6th at the Buckeye Sheriffs Association in Columbus.
A Contract Operator agreement between the Commissioners and William Marker for wastewater and collection treatment systems was approved at $60.00 an hour.
Two Notices of Awards were entered today. The first award went to First Choice Excavation and Demolition LLC, for six properties totaling $69,750.00. The second award went to H&H Environmental for asbestos abatement for seven properties totaling $52,685.00.
The Men’s Home (1115 East Main Street, Greenville) received a bid from GMT Roofing for a new roof in the amount of $18,642.56.
Point to Point Systems submitted a bid for upgrades to the control services at 631 Wagner Avenue for $23,000.00.
Commissioners for Auglaize, Mercer, Darke, Shelby, and Van Wert discussed Mile Creek and Loramie Creek via phone conference. The information was Journalized.
