Opioid Settlement Money Allocated

DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ July 21, 2026 regular meeting started at 9:32 p. m. with Commissioners Aultman, Combs and Flatter present. The Commissioners then approved the minutes from July 16th.

The examination and allowance of bills were presented and approved. The vouchers for July 21st were: General Fund $8,090.13; outside General funds $618,068.18; for a total of $626,158.31.

Transfers of Appropriations were approved for the Zoning and Darke County Municipal Court. Zoning transferred $500.00 for advertisements, and Darke County Municipal Court transferred $10,500.00 for the part-time salary line.

Three Fund Advances for Darke County Grants were approved. $155,643.59 was approved for a LEVEL MB pay app from the 2025 Box Hangar Grant, the 2024 CDBG grant for Shinn Bros work on the South High Street project in Arcanum for $124,500.00, and $8,885.00 for Garman Miller for geotechnical services from the 2023 Fort Jefferson Sewer project.

Opioid settlement amounts were allocated to various organizations and were approved by the Darke County Opioid Settlement Committee today. $3000.00 to Darke County Recovery Services, $25,000.00 to Boys and Girls clubs of Greenville, $25,000.00 to Godspeed LLC DBA Snap Fitness, $50,000.00 to the Darke County Pregnancy Center, $28,380.00 to LGBTQ+ Community Center of Darke County and $55,000.00 to the I Am Well foundation.

A Change order for the Grants Department for First Choice Lead Abatement at 602 Main Street, Ansonia was approved. The total was $69,908.00.

The Darke County Sheriff had an expense request for Aaron Steinke to attend the Ohio Narco Conference, Sept. 14-16, 2026 in Dublin, Ohio. The cost to attend will be $869.00
