GREENVILLE – Decolores Montessori 6th-grade students performed their Solo and Ensemble Concert at the Trinity Wesleyan Church in Greenville on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
The Solo Ensemble is a yearly opportunity for students in the Decolores orchestra to perform a solo and a small ensemble piece. An annual event, the Solo Ensemble concert is a fantastic opportunity for the 6th graders to demonstrate the progress of their string instruments. Music is an integral part of the Montessori classroom and has been proven to enhance math, literacy, and brain development.
At Decolores, all students are involved in orchestra and choose a string instrument (violin, viola, or cello) in 2nd grade and have weekly instruction.
The solo and ensemble concert was a beautiful evening to honor every child and their hard work and progress.
The following 6th graders performed a solo: Opal C., Avery G., Natalie G., Eleanor H., Miah K., Harper M., Levi W., and Shelby W. The music program at Decolores Montessori is under the direction of Betsy Hoelscher and Kathy Douds.
