Bids Accepted for Roads and Pavement Marking

DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ regular March 17, 2026, meeting started at 9:31 a.m. with Commissioners Aultman, Combs, and Flatter present. The Commissioners then approved the minutes from March 12th.

The Examination and Allowance of bills dated March 12th, 16th, and 17th were presented. The General Fund amount was $24,880.01, and the Outside General Funds were $52,382.80, for a total of $77,262.81. They were approved.

Sealed bids were taken for the sale of 118 West Fifth Street, Greenville. The minimum bid amount was set at $40,000.00. There was one bidder, John Baumgardner, at $40,001.00. The bid was accepted for consideration.

A Revenue and Appropriation increase was submitted by Adult Probation. An Increase of $11,842.00 from the grant was not known at the beginning of the year. It was approved.

An expense request for the Prosecutors’ office was approved for $1,793.80. Jennifer Webb and Shannon Godown will attend the Ohio Attorney General’s meeting on May 18-19, 2026, in Columbus.

Bids were accepted for road resurfacing and pavement marking from Walls Brothers Asphalt and Aero-Mark Company. The road resurfacing bid to Walls Bros. was $2,920,854.50, and their bids for spot improvements per ton were approved: 404 LV asphalt at $83.00 per ton and 301 base asphalt at $71.00 per ton, FOB at their plant. Aero-Mark’s bid for pavement markings was $390,368.00. Either contract’s final payment may exceed the estimated amounts, but will be governed by the actual items in place at the bid unit prices.

The Commissioners then went into Executive Session at 9:38 a.m. to discuss pending or imminent court action. The Session ended at 9:41 a.m.       .
