VANDALIA – The Mississinawa Valley High School Dance Team had an outstanding performance at the 2026 OASSA State Dance Competition on Sunday, February 8, held at Vandalia Butler High School. Competing in the highly competitive Small Hip Hop Division, the team earned an impressive 2nd place finish, the highest state placement in Mississinawa Valley dance team history.
The division featured exceptional talent from across the state, and the MV dancers rose to the challenge, delivering one of their strongest performances of the season. Their dedication, passion for the sport, and commitment to excellence showed as they took the floor.
“Coaching this group of young ladies has been a true privilege. Their love for dance, relentless work ethic, and dedication to representing Mississinawa Valley with pride made this season incredibly special,” coach Daisy Dirmeyer praised.
“The team has set a new standard for excellence and has represented MV with class and determination all year long and I could not have asked for a better group of dancers, and I am extremely proud of everything they accomplished this season,” Dirmeyer,” concluded.
This year’s team consisted of eight talented dancers: Cali Johns (senior), Gretchen Rodeheffer, Ella Godfrey, Ava Hummel, Kayaa Mote, Rylie Alexander, Zaylee Pruitt, and Riley Arden.
Throughout the season, the team competed at several competitions, including the Great Darke County Fair, Arcanum, Mississinawa Valley, Xenia, the OASSA Southwest Regional Qualifier, and the WOAC Conference Competition. The team also captured the WOAC Conference Championship in the Hip Hop division, adding to an already remarkable season.
