Driver hospitalized after landing his vehicle into a creek

DARKE COUNTY – On Thursday, at approximately 5:29 p.m., Darke County Deputies, along with Arcanum Fire & Rescue, were dispatched to the 4000 block of Arcanum Bears Mill Road, in reference to a single-vehicle injury accident.

Preliminary investigation revealed a blue 1999 Volkswagen was traveling south on Arcanum Bears Mill Road. The driver of the Volkswagen, identified as Edwin Knaff (73) of West Alexandria, Ohio, lost control of the vehicle and drove off the roadway, striking a ditch before coming to rest in a creek. The driver of the Volkswagen was able to get out of the vehicle with the assistance of first responders.

Knaff was transported to Wayne Healthcare for non-life-threatening injuries by Arcanum Rescue.
