Commissioners reappoint Alex Pendl to Law Library resource board

DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ November 20, 2025, regular meeting started at 1:30 p.m. with Commissioners Aultman, Combs, and Flatter present. The Commissioners approved the minutes from November 18th. Then, the examination and allowance of bills for November 20th were presented. The totals were $51,562.44 for the General fund, $629,986.77 for outside funds, for a total of $681,549.21.

There were various Transfers of Appropriations next. The Sheriff transferred $25,000 to purchase computers. The Commissioners transferred $4,492.91 to pay Reflections Body Shop and the Littman Thomas bill. The Auditor transferred $3,000.00 to cover CEBCO vision insurance. Common Pleas Court transferred $275.00 to cover dues, and the Board of Elections transferred $6,350.00 for network switch replacement.

The next was a fund transfer and an Appropriation decrease for the Engineer. The transfer was for the Engineer’s share of the 2025 County/Township OPWC paving, totaling $746,840.00. The Appropriation decrease (due to the project costing less than expected) was $203,201.28.

Alex Pendl was reappointed to the Law Library resource board for five years, expiring 12/31/2030. Brian Phillips was reappointed as the Township representative to the One Ohio Region 15 board until 12/31/2028. The Public Defenders Commission reappointed Lexi Horner and Ryan Dynes (the Judges’ appointee), then appointed new member Carla Allen to a four-year term ending on 12/31/2029. Congratulations to all the appointees.

A rate of pay change for full-time Sewer Worker Matthew Pescara, effective November 17th, 2025, was approved.

Darke County Grants had a fund advance to the 2024 Demo/revitalization grant of $3090.00 to cover the Turn-Key Contract for nine properties and a Turn-Key contract for three more properties. The money will be repaid once it is received from the grant.
