Darke County Commissioners meet

DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners, Aaron Flatter, and Marshall Combs were present at the June 12, 2025, regular meeting. Matt Aultmen was at a Farm Bureau meeting.

The regular session began at 1:30 in the Administration Building. On the agenda were the regular session minutes from June 10th, which were passed unanimously. The examination and allowance of bills for June 12th were then presented. The vouchers, including any “then and now” certificates in the amount of the General Fund, were $91,864.77; Outside General Funds of $283,895.56 for a total of $375,760.33 were unanimously approved for payment. 

A petition for expedited annexation for 16.408 acres for Versailles was presented by attorney Tom Guillozet. The petition was unanimously approved by the 2 commissioners.

Two bid openings were next for the 2024 Demolition and Site Revitalization program, one for Asbestos abatement only, and the other for Demolition only. Bids were opened and submitted for the Commissioners to approve at a later date, probably next Tuesday. 

Two fund advances were presented to the Commissioners. One advance was for the 2024 CDBG Grant to cover an AIM media bill in the amount of $131.42. The other fund advance for the 2025 ODOT Weather Station Grant, in the amount of $35,624.00.

Finally, a full-time Ditch Maintenance worker was approved. Kyle Briner will start on June 23rd, 2025.

A reminder that County offices will be closed for a federal holiday, Juneteenth, Thursday, June 19th. Session ended at 1:57.
