ARCANUM – On March 12, 2024, the Joyful Jets 4-H Club met at Trinity Methodist Church in Arcanum for a regularly scheduled 4-H meeting. The meeting started with a game led by Advisor Susan Peele. President Hannah Kendig called the meeting to order and led the pledges and motto. Secretary Cheyenne Swisher did roll call and read minutes from the previous meeting. The Treasurers Report was given by Caleb Wiant. In addition, a Health Report was given by Willis Shiverdecker.
In Old Business, online enrollment is due April 1, and club dues can be paid to the club treasurer by the next meeting. Trash Bash is a club fundraiser all members can participate in, forms are online and due at the end of the month.
In New Business, the club received the Gold Honor Club award, and all of the officer books received awards. If members are unable to get to the extension office to purchase project books, they can complete an order form and pay money to the club treasurer. The club will be getting new shirts to honor its 25th Anniversary; all members need to turn in their shirt size by the April meeting. Reminder turkey order pickup is April 5, 1-4 pm at the Extension Office.
Just a reminder: The complete Junior Fair lease agreements are for animals you do not own and plan to show. There will be a Junior Fair poultry clinic on April 13 at the Ohio Building at the fairgrounds, this is a good event to attend if showing poultry.
Quality Assurance needs to be completed. If members plan to show market animals, they must sign up online.
Cheyenne Swisher did public speaking, March birthdays were recognized, and the meeting was adjourned.
Members enjoyed refreshments provided by the Miller and Swisher families.
