3 injured in northern Darke County crash

DARKE COUNTY – On Thursday, at approximately 6:56 p.m., Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with Ansonia Rescue, Osgood Rescue, Versailles Rescue and North Star Fire Department, responded to the intersection of U.S. 127 and SR 705 in reference to a two-vehicle accident with injury.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a Black 2014 Jeep Patriot, driven by James Head (47) of Ft Recovery, was traveling West on SR 705. A light blue 2010 Chrysler Pacifica, driven by Melvin Potter (63) of Versailles, was traveling South on US 127. Head failed to yield the right of way to Potter at the posted stop signs, causing the vehicles to collide.

Potter’s passengers, Lori Potter (63) of Versailles and a juvenile, were transported to Coldwater Hospital for their injuries. Head was also transported to Coldwater Hospital for his injuries. All injuries are non-life-threatening.

This accident remains under investigation.
