GREENVILLE – The Great Darke County Fair is officially underway. Fair Directors, State Representatives, and many community members gathered early Friday morning to kick off the start of an anticipated successful fair. The rain held off just long enough to hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the marking of the 168th Great Darke County Fair.

Andrew Wuebker led with a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem. Miss Teen Ohio, Allie Gray was also in attendance and performed the song in American Sign Language.

Fair Directors thanked all distinguished guests for attending including State Representatives, Angie King and Rodney Creech, Miss Teen Ohio, and several others.

Rhonda Williams, 2024 Darke County Fair Supporter of the Year was recognized as well and
was in attendance with her family.

The Fair Directors held a breakfast for those who were invited to attend. Aaron Cox with
Montage Cafe catered the delicious meal.

Many of those who were in attendance expressed their gratitude and anticipation for a
successful 168th Great Darke County Fair.

“We are excited to get all of the events of the week started,” exclaimed 2024 Darke County Jr. Fair King, Collin Batten. “There’s a lot of members out here from various organizations and clubs that are excited to showcase their projects and their animals.”

Many kids have moved in and are excited to begin the show week and showcase the animals that they have been working hard with all summer. This year there are nearly a total of 600 Darke County Junior Fair Exhibitors spread out amongst many departments.

“We are looking forward to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office and all of the public safety forces involved in being out at the fair. We meet and prepare for the fair with a focus of ‘How do we make it as safe as possible,” said Darke County Sheriff, Mark Whittaker. “I believe that The Great Darke County Fair is one of the safest in Ohio. We want folks to come out here and have a great time while all being safe.”

There are many fun and exciting activities each day for all families and individuals to enjoy.
From Midway fun to gazebo musicians to fair food. There is something out here for everyone.

Bus Derby? That will be a fun sight this year. Tractor Pull? That’s returning. Horse Pulls? Don’t worry they have you covered there too.
