DARKE COUNTY – On Tuesday at approximately 4:19 PM Darke County Deputies along with Greenville City Fire, Greenville Township Fire, Greenville Township Rescue and CareFlight were dispatched to the intersection of State Route 121 and Bishop Road in reference to a two-vehicle serious injury accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed a tan 2003 GMC 1500 driven by William M E Koontz (19) of Eaton, Ohio was stopped northbound on State Route 121 in traffic attempting to make a left turn onto Bishop Road. Koontz was rear-ended by a northbound black 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, driven by Adam J Miller (20) of Eaton, Ohio. After the impact, Koontz vehicle remained on the roadway and Miller was ejected from the motorcycle.
Koontz was treated and released from the scene with no injuries. Miller sustained serious injuries and was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight. Koontz was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
